A WINDFARM off the Tees Valley coastline could be producing electricity within two years.
The Teesside Offshore Windfarm with 27 turbines is being built off the Redcar coast and will be seen from the coast of Hartlepool and east Durham.
EDF Energy Renewables says it will eventually produce 62 megawatts of electricity, which is enough to power up to 40,000 households.
Tim Bland, project manager, said: “We are comfortable with the project’s progress both on and off shore, and we are confident that it will be ready on time.
“The pre-construction offshore geo-technical surveys have been completed.
“We are pleased with the support we have received for this project from the local authorities and wider community, and we look forward to delivering green electricity for the area.”
