Sunderland and Hartlepool are amongst the North East locations being visited by researchers for the TV show.

Can you juggle with forks? Do backflips with your cat? Swallow swords?

Well, now’s your chance to shine.

Researchers from ITV show Britain’s Got Talent are coming to the North East this month – and if you have a talent you’d like to share, they want to hear from you!

A number of “open-mic” style events will be held across the Hartlepool and Middlesborough areas between October 26 and 28, before heading across Sunderland and Newcastle between October 29 and 31.

Emily Smith, a researcher for Thames Television, is appealing for people of all ages, with all talents, to get in touch about the dates.

She said: “It’s going to be very informal and it’s just a way to find great, new talent for the next series of the show.

“If you want to come along and be part of those events, we would love to meet you.”

The locations for the North East events have not yet been revealed – but if you would like to attend, get in touch with Emily and her fellow researcher to find out more and sign up.

It is thought that there will be an event almost every night that the two researchers are in the region, with additional sessions running in the afternoons.

“We want to see all talents and it’s all about variety,” Emily added.

“Whatever you have got, come and show us – we really want to see it.”

In last year’s series of the show, Hartlepool’s Danny Posthill finished seventh in the final after wowing the British public with his impressions.
