It is open to people of all ages and organisers are hoping to attract choir groups, dance acts, cheerleaders, singers, duos and vocal groups.

The auditions will be held at The Grand Hotel and the best will be chosen to go through to the grand final at Rainton Meadows arena in November, which carries a £1,000 prize.

Hartlepool singer Jessica Harrison has already secured her place after entering the Sunderland heat.

Event organiser Amy Pink said: “We are looking for singers, dancers, choirs, and magicians of all ages.
“It would be good to have a little bit of everything. It is a good way of showcasing your talent in a really good venue in front of music industry professionals.
