COLLEGE students are learning from a top chef as they prepare for a special night.
East Durham College's restaurant, Scene1, will be hosting a Burns Night Supper event on Thursday, January 27, which is open to the public.
Joe Keenan, head chef lecturer at the college, who is from Glasgow, said: "All the team are really enjoying planning and preparing for the event.
"It will provide the hospitality and catering students with some the valuable experience of planning and putting on a themed night event."
The event is sure to be a big hit under the expert supervision of the Glaswegian who is also currently working as head chef at the Newcastle Falcons.
Joe's impressive CV includes leading on the opening of the Barcelona, Madrid, Glasgow and Edinburgh Hilton Hotel restaurants.
He also owned and ran his own restaurant, the Centurion Inn, at Langley Park, which was in The Good Food Guide top five nationally for 10 years and Joe has also gained 13 rosettes over the course of his career.
The three course meal will only cost 12.95 and tables are available from 7.00pm.
