AN entrepreneur is leaving for sunnier climes- and a first-time business boss is taking her place.
Angela Allison has owned and run the Beauty Room within Tony Gallagher hairdressers for the last nine years.
Now she is swapping Hartlepool for Cyprus and said: “It is a move I wanted to make and hopefully I can set up a business over there.” But there’s a ready-made replacement for Angela.
Keen first-time entrepreneur Nicola Moreland has taken over and said: “I am really excited about it all. I can not wait to get going and it will be really nice to work for myself. I want to get into things straight away.”
Nicola, who will rename the business Beauty by Nicola, is no stranger to the town scene.
She worked at Springs, also in Hartlepool Marina, for 11 years and was its salon manager for four years.
Angela’s business featured non-surgical facelifts, specialist waxing, manicure, pedicure, tanning. massages and other beauty treatments.
Nicola is planning the same, although she will add her own little touches.
Angela added: “I am moving abroad and I have built a really good business up which is why Nicola has bought it from me. It is not going to be closed.”
Nicola found out through a friend that the business would be available. She said: “I just thought ‘I have got to do this’ and I also thought ‘if I don’t give it a go then someone else will.”
The two women started negotiating the deal last June and Nicola said: “I have been planning for this since then.”
