TWELVE new jobs have been created in Hartlepool thanks to a newwly arrived beauty business.
The Total Hair and Beauty Training Academy has moved to a new base in Hartlepool from its previous home in Stockton.
Its owner Anna Smith has told how training in the beauty field is in big demand and the town seemed the perfect setting to develop her firm further.
She told Business Update: “There was a massive gap in the market for affordable and accessible industrial professional qualifications - the ones that make the money, that’s where Total comes in.”
Interest in the Total training courses is already high.
Anna explained: “We have people coming to train from all over the country Birmingham, Liverpool Dorset - we have even had one lady that travelled all the way from Cyprus.”
The academy offers short courses to anyone who wants to embark on a new career, or for people who just want to enhance their current skills.
Just four months since opening the company, single mum-of-two Anna and her team have trained more than 400 learners.
Anna added: “The success of the business has seen it go from strength to strength. We have more than 10,000 likes on Facebook and the feedback is infectious.
“Total has moved from Stockton to accommodate bigger premises in Hartlepool which also sees the launch of Total Trade Suppliers, offering over 1,600 hair and beauty products in the Hartlepool cash and carry outlet.”
The Total Hair and Beauty Training Academy is now based at Sovereign Park, in Brenda Road, Hartlepool.
The nine new recruits have been taken on in fields such as beauty trainers, hair extension trainers and sales staff.
Anna described it as “a one stop shop for training.”
She added: “We have completely moved from Stockton. I came in to the shop to buy eye lashes and said I wanted bigger premises.”
It led to Total Hair and Beauty Training Academy choosing Hartlepool as its new base.
Anna is originally from Middlesbrough and previously had worked in fields such as marketing and education.
Her new Hartlepool company has its training section upstairs at the Sovereign Park premises and the cash and carry on the ground floor.
