Book up and get going in business

ASPIRING entrepreneurs have been given the perfect boost to their plans to start up in business.

A new weekly advice scheme has started in Hartlepool, offering advice and one-to-one sessions for would-be bosses - all from the comfort of the Central Library in York Road.

The Enterprising Libraries project has arrived in town. A taster session was held to gauge the interest and the Enterprising Libraries project officer Alex Joel said: “We’ve had people come in to find out more but it is also about networking.”

Next to come is a programme of events which kicks off next month. It will encourage women to find out more about starting up in business.

And Alex is also planning weekly drop-in sessions at the Central Library on Wednesdays, from 10am to 4pm. They will include free one-to-one session.

Enterprising Libraries is an Arts Council-funded initiative aimed at supporting economic growth.

The scheme’s target is to turn library spaces into incubator areas for business ideas by providing coaching and advice.
