A BUILDING site manager is constructing a great future for himself after winning an award for the second year running.

Steve Cook, who works for the Hartlepool-based house building firm Yuill Homes, has retained his title as the best in the North-East when it comes to managing a building site.

He has been officially crowned as regional winner of the medium builder category at this year’s NHBC (National House Building Council) Pride in the Job Awards.

And he will hope to go one step further when he competes for the national title next year.

Dad-of-two Steve, 42, from Wolviston, oversees construction work at Yuill Homes’ College Gardens development which is in Billingham.

The award means that Steve will now progress to the Pride in the Job Supreme Gala event, being held in London in January 2014.

Steve, who was also named as the supreme winner in the medium builder category last year, said he was “over the moon” to have won an award again.

He added: “To be recognised by my fellow industry professionals is very special and is such a proud moment for me and my family.”

Steve was keen to share the plaudits with his fellow workers.
