A BUILDING site manager has made it through to the regional final of a competition.
Steve Cook, who works for Hartlepool-based Yuill Homes, has been shortlisted for a regional title in the annual National House-Building Council’s (NHBC) Pride in the Jobs Awards.
He has been named in the regional final for the firm’s College Gardens development, in Finchdale Avenue, Billingham, after winning the first round of judging in the competition.
Isabel Hudson, executive chairman of NHBC, said: “I congratulate Steve for his win.
“Anyone gaining an award against such strong competition can be very proud of their achievement and the new homes they have built should be among the best homes in the UK.
“I wish all the shortlisted winners the best of luck for the regional finals.”
Pride in the Job recognises outstanding quality in house-building throughout the UK.
It rewards the best site managers who are responsible for managing the construction of new homes from start to finish and have a unique influence on the overall quality of the finished product.
The regional winners will be announced at regional ceremonies in the autumn, with successful winners then progressing to the Grand Gala Final, in London, in January next year to find the country’s best site manager.
