A business expert has stressed the importance of teamwork to bring more investment to the Tees Valley.
Stephen Catchpole, managing director of the local enterprise partnership Tees Valley Unlimited, praised the joint efforts with councils, business and other agencies.
We cannot work in isolation to help the area diversify its industrial landscape, attract inward investment and help home-grown companies develop and growStephen Catchpole, managing director of Tees Valley Unlimited
He said: “We cannot work in isolation to help the area diversify its industrial landscape, attract inward investment and help home-grown companies develop and grow.
“Not only do we have established relationships with local agencies, businesses and councils, but we also work with organisations beyond our boundaries that share common goals and where a wider geographical area needs to join forces, such as when developing transport infrastructure, for improvement projects to be successful.
“Therefore, collaboration is key to TVU helping drive the economic prosperity of the area.”
The teamwork, he said, was helping the area to achieve its goals of 25,000 jobs and £1bn of extra Gross Value Added (GVA) during the next decade.
He called on business owners, directors and managers to complete a quick survey to “help us identify what businesses require to expand.
“With the new Government’s focus on devolving more autonomy and decision-making to the regions and the Northern Powerhouse starting to take shape, it is even more important that TVU fully understands what businesses want to happen in Tees Valley.
“The results of the survey will help shape the activities of TVU, Tees Valley Business Compass and our partners, including how we develop business events and business support packages, continue to attract investment to the area and influence Government policy to secure the support and resources we need to strengthen our economy.”
