Take an exclusive first look at the brand new Marks & Spencer which is just a day away from opening in Hartlepool.
Behind the scenes, the excited staff can’t wait to get under way and open to the public.
The new M&S Foodhall Hartlepool will open its doors tomorrow and 80 staff will welcome customers from 10am.
Staff are preparing for the big opening which will be heralded by store manager Andrea Maxwell cutting a ribbon.
She said: “Everyone is really excited to be providing a beautiful new shop for our customers. It is action stations to get ready.”
The 8,000 sq ft store at the Anchor Retail Park in Hartlepool Marina will provide shoppers with more than 4,500 food and drink lines. Customers will also have a 50 seater cafe, and there is also an in-store bakery.

Staff of all levels of experience are joining forces to offer the new retail outlet.
Carol Heaton has worked for M&S for almost 39 years and was a behind-the-scenes section co-ordinator at the Middleton Grange branch of the business.
Now, she’s set to be the section co-ordinator of the cafe and bakery and said: “It’s such an exciting time. I just want Wednesday to be here so we can get under way.”
Another member of the M&S team is Katie Ridden, a customer assistant who only started with the company as a Christmas temp two years ago, on the clothes section.
She said: “I was there for eight weeks, got called back and I have been there ever since.”
Now she’s set to take on a new role in the bakery of the new store on the Anchor Retail Park. She’s loving it already.
“It is exciting. It is a new challenge and I like change.
“Change is good. I can’t wait to get in there and bake.”
The opening of M&S Foodhall Hartlepool will see the existing M&S store in the Middleton Grange Shopping Centre close on Tuesday, June 16. All of the staff will transfer to the new Hartlepool Marina location.
The new store will also provide shoppers with a food ordering service, and the Shop Your Way service, in which customers can order from the M&S catalogue in-store or online.
