A sales and lettings company is putting down roots in Hartlepool by launching a flagship base.

The Castledene Group has invested £60,000 in a new branch at the junction of York Road and Victoria Road, creating four new jobs.

Many of the landlords we work with own properties in Hartlepool, so we could see that it was becoming increasingly important for us to establish a strong presence in the town

John Paul, managing director of the Castledene Group

The Easington-based company, which employs 40 people, was founded in 2008 and has a network of six branches across the North East, managing more than 2,000 properties.

The new team in Hartlepool will offer commercial and residential lettings and sales, and will focus on long-term, ongoing support for landlords.

Managing director John Paul said: “Many of the landlords we work with own properties in Hartlepool, so we could see that it was becoming increasingly important for us to establish a strong presence in the town.”

Mr Paul said the firm was “always on the lookout for prominent high street locations, so when the opportunity arose to purchase this unit in such a central, easily accessible spot, we knew that it would be the ideal base for our first dedicated Hartlepool branch”.

The company was crowned the UK’s best lettings agency at last year’s Sunday Times Lettings Awards, the first time in the event’s five-year history that a business outside London won the title.

Castledene also took Gold awards in the categories of Best Training and Development Lettings Agency, Best Medium Northern Lettings Agency, and Best UK Medium Lettings Agency.
