A new family fashion and home store is about to open in Hartlepool’s shopping centre with the creation of 12 jobs.
Pep&Co is due to open at Middleton Grange Shopping Centre tomorrow as part of a £20million investment by the chain to launch 50 new stores across the UK by the end of this month.
The chain says the Hartlepool branch will fill a gap in the market it has identified for reasonably priced fashion and home ranges, aimed initially at mums and children.
Among the new jobs at the Middleton Grange store will be a store manager and sales associate positions.
Centre manager Mark Rycraft said: “We are thrilled to welcome another great store to the centre. Pep&Co join us just weeks after the opening of Select and Pavers.
“Pep&Co have a fantastic offer for our shoppers and we wish them every success as they embark on their ambitious plans.”

The business’s managing director Adrian Mountford said: “I’m excited to be bringing Pep&Co here to Hartlepool.
“And because we’ll be offering amazing value on family fashion, I know we’ll play our part in helping the town centre thrive.”
The chain was established by former Asda boss Andy Bond.
He said: “Over the past few years, we Brits have been falling back in love with our high streets by shopping in smaller locations at stores offering real value.
“My ambition is that Pep&Co will be the first true town centre fashion value store in Hartlepool, able to build on the example of new value food and general merchandise retailers.”
