A LONG-established business forum has moved to a new home.
The new £53m Hartlepool College of Further Education is to become the new base this year of the Hartlepool Business Forum events from September.
The forum met previously at the Sir William Gray Suite within the Hartlepool’s Maritime Experience.
Officials say the change reflects the close links with the college which already provides DVDs for the annual Hartlepool Business Awards, also run by the forum.
Forum co-ordinator John Megson said: “Our links with the college can only get stronger as we will be hosting all of our events there from September.”
The forum meets once a month between September and April as a chance for businesses to network and listen to top-level guest speakers.
Mr Megson added: “Working with the college is a long tradition of the Business Forum as they have produced countless DVDs for the prestigious annual awards held at the Borough Hall each May.”
Hartlepool College of Further Education has the largest apprenticeship provision in the area and is a member of four National Skills Academies.
College commercial director Debbie Caygill said: “Hartlepool College is the perfect setting to host business events. This is one area that we are looking to develop and working with the Forum, which has so many local members, is the perfect place to start.
“Our new surroundings incorporate five conference rooms hosting numbers from 20 to 220 all with state-of-the-art technology. We are also very lucky to have our own Flagship Restaurant who can cater for buffets, parties and fine dining.”
The forum’s first event takes place on Thursday, September 22, from 5.15pm in Hartlepool College of Further Education’s Conference Centre.
