A CHARTERED accountants firm based in Hartlepool has promoted one of its senior staff to the title of associate.

Chartered accountants and business advisers Waltons Clark Whitehill has made the move as part of its recruitment strategy plan.

The plan also includes looking to expand with two new positions being created to enhance the team and handle a growing client base.

George Hardey joined the Hartlepool-based firm 15 years ago as a tax senior, bringing over five years of experience working with Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) working on personal taxation and self-assessment issues.

During his time at Waltons Clark Whitehill, George has managed a diverse portfolio including directors, sole traders, high net worth individuals and expatriates as well as small, medium and large sized limited companies.

He has advised his clients on income tax, corporation tax, Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax matters.

Since joining the firm, he has also achieved his Association of Taxation Technicians qualification and obtained Chartered Tax Adviser status.

He has progressed through the firm and rose to senior tax manager.

Heather O’Driscoll, managing director of Waltons Clark Whitehill, said: “The growth of client base is a great opportunity to create a new role which recognises and acknowledges George’s skills and experience across a wide range of clients over the course of his 15 years with the firm.

“George is an excellent member of the team and his knowledge of our clients and the issues they face make him an ideal person to step into the role of an Associate at Waltons Clark Whitehill.”
