An expanding Hartlepool-based physio business is moving into extra lines of work - and taking on a new recruit.
Paul Gough’s Raby Road-based company is continuing to grow with hopes that it can take on an apprentice each year.

In a further boost, the firm is also expanding into a new line of work where it helps people with strokes and low-level neurological conditions.
To adapt to the new line, the company wants to move its ground floor offices upstairs to create more space.
Owner Paul Gough began his firm in his bedroom at home, and has developed it into a £500,000 operation with 14 staff. It has four offices around the North East and continues to grow.
Paul said: “We want to create a bigger space downstairs and the staff are going on courses.
“We are getting a lot of interest from people who have had a stroke and been discharged from hospital but want some help before they are left on their own. That is where we come in.”
But as the company expands more staff are needed to join the high-quality team.
One example of the success story is Rachel Masshedar, 18, from the town centre area, who joined as an apprentice a year ago. She learned everything from customer service to accounts.
She did so well, the former English Martyrs student is now excelling in accounts and has joined the company on a full-time basis.
But Paul now intends to find another apprentice and he said: “As we grow, we are looking to replace Rachel’s role as an apprentice and hope to do that every year.”
