A COMPANY has moved into new premises to expand its services.

Blakelock Support Services is now based in the Innovation Centre, run by UK Steel Enterprise, on the town’s Queens Meadow Business Park.

Blakelock provides domestic cleaning, home care and accompanied trips for people who need help with shopping or attending medical and other appointments.

It has added a fast-growing laundry service and is looking to move into other areas such as spring cleaning and wardrobe-sorting as well.

Claire Blakelock, whose mother Catherine has been involved with the company since its first day, said: “We have wanted to expand our existing services and start new ones for a while and 2015 looks like being a very busy year for us. We expect to start taking on more staff very soon.

“The space and facilities at the Innovation Centre are just perfect for us and the UK Steel Enterprise team couldn’t have been more helpful.”

Joan Cook, a member of the UK Steel Enterprise team at the Innovation Centre, said: “Claire and her team provide such a valuable service to so many people in the area and we are delighted to have them here.

“Our offices, workshops and facilities - from meeting rooms and parking to one of the highest broadband speeds in the region - are all designed to help companies like Blakelock Support Services grow.”
