AN enterprise centre welcomed allcomers during two open days – and urged others to come forward as well.

Hartlepool Enterprise Centre in Brougham Terrace held the event to let people look around and to meet staff and advisors.

But centre manager Andrea Miles said the council-run facility is always available to business people needing support and not just during open days.

She urged others to get in touch at any time and said: “This is an incubation centre. It could be for businesses that are working from home and would like to progress to the next stage.

“It could be for people who are looking to move to bigger premises.”

The centre helps small businesses and people who are looking to start up new firms.

It guides them in their formative years to help them get to a position where they are big enough to move on.

“The business support they need is available within this building from my team, from the Chamber of Commerce and from Business Link,” said Andrea.

“What we are trying to do is nurture businesses here for a couple of years before they move on to the next stage, and we have three companies that have just moved on despite the recession which is great news. It is a natural progression.”
