A PETERLEE claims management company has scooped an industry award at a glittering ceremony.

Albany Assistance’s innovative beat off strong competition from across Europe to claim the Vertical Market Solution award at the 2015 IT Europa Software Excellence Awards.

It was in recognition of the firm’s innovative self-service online customer portal which gives their customers around the clock access to details of their claim and allows them to review and sign key service agreements.

A total of 83 companies from 32 European countries made the final shortlist of the awards.

Albany Assistance’s IT services director Andrew Langford said: “In developing the portal we aimed to provide a high quality experience which improved the customer journey.

“Our customer feedback has overwhelmingly confirmed we achieved this, so it’s really the icing on the cake to also have this recognition from industry specialists.”

The award recognises entries that are innovative in the way they meet the customer’s requirements, or use leading edge technology to give their customer a business advantage.

Developed by ecommerce agency PureNet, Albany Assistance’s portal includes dynamic help and frequently asked questions functions as well as providing key service contact details.

It had to be legally watertight, easy to use on all devices and highly intuitive to make complex actions straightforward for users.

PureNet Chief Executive, Dr Paul Gibson, said: “We are thrilled that the Albany Assistance portal solution has been recognised in this fantastic way.

“This award is a huge testament to the hard work and commitment of the whole PureNet and Albany teams.”

Work to develop the next phases of the customer portal has just begun at Albany Assistance, at Breckon Hill Business Park.
