Lifeline agreed for dairy

AN agreement has been signed after a dairy was thrown a lifeline by a national company.

Rock Farm Dairy, in Wheatley Hill, had gone into administration putting 78 jobs at risk, as previously reported by the Hartlepool Mail.

But Lincolnshire-based school milk suppliers Cool Milk stepped in and offered a financial boost to safeguard some of the jobs and to ensure customers received their supply of dairy products.

And the cash backing will resurrect Rock farm dairy under the new name of UK Dairy Sales Ltd.

Now a tolling manufacturing and distribution agreement with UK Dairy Sales Ltd has been signed.

UK Dairy Sales will buy raw milk and Rock Farm will process and distribute it on behalf of UK Dairy Sales to former Rock Farm customers.
