RESIDENTS are being reminded of a meeting being held in Hartlepool this week to discuss a proposed new, large-scale housing development.
Persimmon has approached Hartlepool Borough Council and requested a pre-application developer forum which will take place in the Civic Centre on Wednesday at 9am.
The forums are part of the council’s One Stop Shop, pre-application advisory service which provides advice on planning matters prior to the submission of a formal planning application.
Persimmons Homes has taken over Yuill Homes’s interest in the land, adjacent to the Fens and Owton Manor areas, known as the South-West extension, which was previously earmarked for around 2,500 new homes.
There will then be an opportunity for councillors and other interested parties invited to the meeting to seek clarification on any points or raise issues.
Members of the public are welcome to attend the forum and listen to the proceedings but are unable to ask questions.
Chris Pipe, the council’s planning services manager, said: “The forum meetings enable a potential developer to present their planning proposals prior to the submission of a formal planning application.
“It must be emphasised that this is not an opportunity for people to object to the proposal; it’s an opportunity for councillors and interested parties to seek clarification or raise planning issues which should be considered by the developer in any formal planning submission.”
Any interested party wishing to participate in the forum should contact Gill Scanlon at Hartlepool Borough Council on (01429) 523741 or email firstname.lastname@example.org in advance of the forum.
