A BUSINESS club is coming back to Hartlepool to hold another networking event – but this time with a difference.

The Mussel Club is stepping up its presence in the Tees Valley and it all starts with a meeting at the White House in Wooler Road, Hartlepool.

Entrepreneurs are being invited to a quiz and chips night starting at 8pm on Monday, August 22.

Teesside branch organiser Pat Chambers said: “It is business networking with a difference.

“A booking fee of just £5 covers your quiz entry, with a plate of chips, garlic bread and crunchy onion rings.

“We can guarantee that the company, food, ale and venue will be great.”

The next Mussel Club will be held in Middlesbrough at the Cargo Fleet offices of Python Properties on Monday, September 19, at 8pm.

As well as offering the usual networking opportunities, it will also be a taster session to promote the first ever Teesside Business Expo which will be held next year.

Up to 150 businesses will be able to display their products at the planned Expo at the Cargo Fleet offices of Python Properties on March 8, 2012.

Pat said: “The Expo will showcase the very best of business and innovation for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).

“We anticipate being able to host 120 to 150 businesses although we won’t be deterred if demand goes over this amount.

“We will simply have to secure more space so that no one misses out.

“The key thing to mention is that this will provide an exhibition venue and supported marketing that is free for businesses who attend our September event at Cargo Fleet Offices.

“Most SMEs are deterred from exhibiting due to the high costs involved. The Mussel Club is creating an opportunity to showcase, network and generate new business here in Teesside.”

Mussel Club officials in the Tees Valley are determined to highlight the talents in the area.

Pat added: “We see this as a much-needed event to shout loud and clear that conditions for business are ‘good up north’.

“We love the big blue chip inward investment being achieved through Tees Valley Unlimited. This event however, will enable our SMEs to demonstrate how they can support these large corporates through the supply chain but, more importantly highlight those areas where they actually lead with a range of specialised or niche products and services.”
