THE importance of marketing in business has been highlighted at the latest meeting of a networking group.

Hartlepool Business Forum held its last meeting of 2012 at the Hartlepool’s Maritime Experience.

Delegates gathered to enjoy a buffet, a chance to network with like-minded entrepreneurs, and also listen to talks on sales and marketing.

Guest speakers included Jackie Wade, the managing director of Winning Sales, who gave hints, tips and practical ways to develop a positive approach to selling.

Phil Knowles, an award winning member of the Chartered Institute of Marketers, talked about how to develop a business brand and communicate better.

And Brian Jackson, from B Supplied, gave a practical view of the retail sector from a national and independent perspective.

The next meeting of the forum will be held on Thursday, January 24.

The remaining networking events in the season will be held at Hartlepool College of Further Education, starting at 5.15pm.

The event will take the form of a business safari with forum co-ordinator John Megson as the tour guide.
