A BUDGET hotel chain has started a recruitment drive to fill 12 jobs at its new Hartlepool venue.
Travelodge is opening a 65-room hotel at The Lanyard in Hartlepool Marina towards the end of this year.
It has now started the search to find staff including a receptionist, housekeeper, guest room cleaner, and bar cafe assistant.
The multi-million pound hotel has been built on the car park to the east of KFC, next to Vue cinema.
Construction work started in March on the hotel which will include a reception area, bar and a separate ground floor restaurant.
Travelodge is creating 189 jobs across the UK in the lead up to Christmas with the opening of nine new hotels.
But bosses stress the roles are permanent.
The company’s chief operating officer Jon Hendry Pickup said: “These new jobs are for the long-term, not just for Christmas – we want enthusiastic and committed team members whose number one priority is to look after our customers.
“Travelodge offers a comprehensive in-house training and development programme so that our people can build a successful career with a dynamic company such as ours.”
