A TOP businessman spoke about his successes in industry when he became the latest guest speaker at the Hartlepool Business Forum.

James Robson, the business development and finance director at Exwold Technology, spoke at the meeting held at the Hartlepool’s Maritime Experience.

James studied Mining Engineering at Leeds University and began a career with Ellis and Everard, the national chemical distribution organisation which is now part of Univar.

He then went on to study for his MBA through Durham University and in 1992-93 he set up Exwold.

Exwold started at Port Clarence and expanded to new premises in Hartlepool where it is now flourishing.

He told the audience how a fledgling business had developed into a multi-million pound project.

The next event on the business forum agenda is the annual Hartlepool Business Awards to be held on Thursday, May 19, at the Borough Hall.

The event is a sellout and will see 11 honours handed out including the overall title of Business of the Year.
