AN ENTREPRENEUR who specialises in foreign language classes for tots has expanded her classes to more children.
Abigail Curtis began running the Lingotot North Tees franchise in late 2012. It has already grown to provide either French or Spanish lessons in Holy Trinity, Sacred Heart, West Park, Brougham, St. Joseph’s schools in Hartlepool.
Abigail said: “We are starting in Throston after half- term and are starting in Crooksbarn school in Norton after Easter.
“Modern foreign languages are becoming compulsory for schools to teach their KS2 children from September, 2014.”
As well as curriculum time, Lingotot also provides after school and lunch clubs, and runs weekly French community classes in Hartlepool.
Abigail started Lingotot by running two Spanish nursery classes and one Spanish community class for children but the business has “grown significantly,” said Abigail, 35, from the High Throston area of Hartlepool.
Abigail began the franchise because of her determination to give her own children Patrick, aged five, and three-year-old Matthew the best start in life.
She wants them to learn foreign languages and, after searching the North-East for somewhere where the boys could learn French and Spanish, got the inspiration to go into business for herself.
Now, she runs the North Tees franchise for the business, covering an area including Hartlepool, Sedgefield, Stockton, Norton and Newton Aycliffe.
