HARTLEPOOL’S newest beauty business is a dream come true for town entrepreneur Lisa Herring.
Mother-of-one Lisa, 46, is the person behind the new salon called Vanity Room which has just opened in Murray Street.
She has a team of three behind her in Abbie Smith, Charlotte Clarke and Emily Fairbridge, and Lisa said: “Having my own salon has always been something I have dreamed of doing one day. The staff are very professional and I know have very high standards and are doing an excellent job for me.”
The Vanity Room offers clients a wide range of bespoke hair and beauty treatments and marks the latest stage in Lisa’s long-time passion with hair and beauty.
She said: “I have worked in the hair and beauty industry for more than 25 years.”
Her CV includes an apprenticeship at a Headland salon and then working in the colliery villages before returning to work in reception at another salon in town. Then, after taking a break while she brought up her son Bradley, she returned to the beauty industry.
She has more recently been working in higher education where she helps hair and beauty students with a “focus on customer service skills.”
Now, she is combining her college position with having the three girls run the salon, and said she was delighted with the team she had set up. “The team are all committed to providing the best customer service and carrying out treatments to a very high standard.”
Services at the salon include body treatments, facials and skincare, nail treatments and waxing. They also include eye treatments, massages, and cutting, styling and colouring
Lisa added: “I have a good network of colleagues working within the industry.”
She also makes sure she keeps up with the latest developments by attending “many seminars on the latest advances in treatments.”
