A POPULAR pub has got a busy schedule over the coming months.

The Causeway, in Stranton, Hartlepool, has organised a string of events for its customers old and new.

From Thursday, the establishment will be hosting The Causeway Beer Festival, with six guest ales and two ciders for punters to choose from.

To accompany the festival, there will be a Vinyl Night from 7pm on Saturday where people can bring along their own records for the pub’s DJs to play.

Then on Sunday, August 24, from 5pm, there will be a live local light rock band called Shoot The Poet performing a gig, for drinkers and music lovers to enjoy.

On Saturday, August 30, from 8pm, there will be the Ultimate Chilli-Off in aid of Hartlepool & District Hospice, with tickets, available from behind the bar, including the chilli supper and live music from The Backtrackers.

There will also be a quiz and raffle, with donations of prizes greatly needed.

On Sunday, August 31, the landlords Sean Bell and Thelma Adams will be celebrating their fourth anniversary at The Causeway, with a party from 5pm.

Sean said: “We would like to thank everybody for their support over the last four years and of course, look forward to the next four years.

“There will be free entry to the music room to see Doc Brown and the Groovecats, as well as a fabulous free buffet.”

Then a date for diaries for later in the year is on Saturday, October 4, when charity gig Oxjam will be held from 12am until 12pm.

This year features live bands including Afterhours, The Remington Blends, Fatbob, The Ultraphonics, and The White Negroes.

There are further acts to be confirmed, along with comedians and an open mic jam.

There will also be a raffle plus burgers, hotdogs and other food to be served during the day, which costs £5
entry, with all proceeds to Oxfam.

Sean said: “Come on down and help us make this the most successful Oxjam to date.
