HARTLEPOOL’s very own little princess is royally celebrating her first birthday along with England’s future King.
Gorgeous Ava Grace Barrett made her entrance into the world on the same day as the much-anticipated birth of Prince George of Cambridge, son of Kate and William.
And today Ava celebrates her very special first birthday along with her fellow one-year-old George.
The gorgeous tot’s parents, Jessica McEvoy, 25, and Dean Barrett, 26, say people still mention the fact that Ava was born on the same day as the Prince, and often call her: “Our little royal baby”.
Jessica, an Argos customer adviser from the West View area of Hartlepool, said: “The last year has been lovely and Ava has come on so much.
“She’s a right little star.
“We’ve seen pictures of George and he looks gorgeous, and we’ve seen that he’s walking and things. Ava isn’t walking yet, but she’s coming on lovely.
“We still get a lot of people mentioning the fact that she was born on the same day as George, and they say ‘there’s our little royal baby’.”
Ava celebrated her big day with an early party, with a bouncy castle and games, at the weekend so all of her family and friends could attend.
Jessica said: “Ava really enjoyed herself and we can’t believe she’s one now. It’s gone really quickly. She’s a typical little princess!
“We’ve kept all the newspaper clippings and Royal baby stuff she got when she was born and we’ve put them in a box to show her when she’s older so she understands.”
Jessica safely delivered Ava at the University Hospital of Hartlepool around seven hours before the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to her baby boy.
Ava was born at 9.31am a year ago today, on July 22, weighing in at 6lb 12oz, while Kate and William’s son arrived at 4.24pm, tipping the scales at 8lb 6oz.
Baby Ava was not actually due for another two weeks, on August 4, so it was a big shock when she arrived early..
