HARTLEPOOL is set to step back in time for a colourful festival and the Mail has a great offer for our readers.
The Georgian Festival is being held in the town next weekend with a fun-packed schedule for all the family.
The four-day festival is taking place at a range of town venues and comes after proving popular with visitors to last year’s Tall Ships Races.
People will be able to enjoy stage shows, street theatre and get hands-on with a number of arts workshops.
The action gets underway with two shows in Hartlepool’s Town Hall Theatre, in Raby Road, and the Mail is offering readers the chance to gain from a two-for-one ticket offer.
Austen’s Women will see actress Rebecca Vaughan bring together 13 of Jane Austen’s most celebrated characters in a one-woman show.
Tickets for the show, which takes place on Thursday, June 23, from 7.30pm, are priced at £10 or £9 for concessions.
The next day the theatre will be transformed with colour and costumes when the stars of Jestival take to the stage at 6.30pm.
Balcony tickets are £6 or £5 for concessions and family tables for four are available for £25.
The fun and games carry on into the weekend when Hartlepool’s Maritime Experience will be taken over by the glamorous and mysterious Georgian characters.
People can enjoy the action on Saturday, June 25, and Sunday, June 26, from 10am to 5pm. Tickets cost £3.50 per day or £5.50 for the weekend.
Admission is free for children aged under two and tickets are available on the day, as is free parking at the Maritime Experience.
Michelle Daurat, Hartlepool Borough Council’s events and visitor service manager, said: “It’s great fun for all the family. Why don’t you really get in the spirit of things by coming along dressed up in Georgian style?”
