TWO youths were arrested after reports of cable being dug up from a disused school field.
Police were called to St Hild’s Secondary School, in King Oswy Drive, Hartlepool, where the males aged 18 and 16 were said to have been digging up copper cables from the school field.
The incident is said to have happened on the field on the site of the previous school building, which was demolished several years ago, on the same side of the road as the embankment.
The youths were arrested on suspicion of theft and bailed pending further inquiries, after the incident at around 3.45pm on Saturday.
Police are trying to trace the owners of the cable.
