AN animal charity volunteer is hoping to find the owner of a rabbit that wandered into her garden.
Pat Peart is appealing for the owner of the black-coloured rabbit to come forward after she found it in the garden of her Seaton Carew home.
The 68-year-old found the domestic rabbit in her garden after returning home at teatime on Sunday.
The mum-of-four, who is a grandmother of eight grandchildren and great grandmother of one, has tried to locate the owner herself.
But after drawing a blank she asked the Mail for help in returning the pet to its rightful home.
Pat, who is a volunteer at the RSPCA shop in York Road, Hartlepool, said: “I have been around all the doors in the area and no-one says they have lost on.
“It is very friendly and it only looks like it is six-months-old. It is a lovely little thing.
“I just want to find its owner because it could be a little bairn who could be upset that it has gone.
“I work for the RSPCA shop in York Road as a volunteer and I may have to ring them if the owner doesn’t come for it,” she added.
People can ring Pat on (01429) 296914.
