THE country's largest women-only event is back – and it's your chance to raise money for charity.
Tesco and Cancer Research UK's Race for Life will include events across the North-East, including Hartlepool.
Women of all ages and levels of fitness will join together to walk, jog or run the 5k event to raise money for Cancer Research UK's life-saving research.
And for the first time, the region will host a Race For Life 10k event.
Organisers are urging women to channel their passion for chatting into a rallying cry to join one of the seven Race for Life venues across the region.
Helen Tibbott, Race for Life event manager for the North-East, said: "We know from experience that word of mouth is the best way to spread the message about Race for Life and get friends and family involved."
The Hartlepool Race For Life event takes place on the seafront promenade between Hartlepool and Seaton Carew at 11am on Sunday, June 5.
Helen added: "By entering their local event now, planning fundraising and then relishing the sense of achievement on the big day, the region's women will have plenty to talk about for months to come."
Since the fundraising series started in 1994, 4.7m women across the UK have raised over 327m to fund Cancer Research UK's vital work.
When Race for Life started in 1994, many people diagnosed with cancer did not survive.
Since then money generated by Race for Life has supported Cancer Research UK's work and now more people are beating the disease than ever before.
Women in the North-East can enter Cancer Research UK's Race for Life at www.raceforlife.org or by calling 0871 6411111.
