A LEISURE centre is pulling in more than 17,000 visitors a month – and you can join the throng.

The Mill House Leisure Centre in Raby Road, Hartlepool, is offering a range of new courses at its newly opened studio.

Senior assistant manager Craig Mitchelson urged people to come along on the day he pledged his support for the Hartlepool Mail Race For Fitness programme.

We want The London 2012 Games to leave a real legacy in the town by changing people’s attitude to fitness.

The Mail wants 2012 people to take the step to changing their lifestyle by taking part in sport and looking after themselves.

“It is really important for people to maintain their fitness,” said Craig.

“We want to ensure that this is a healthy town and people can keep in shape by joining in with one of our new courses which we have been offering since the turn of the year.”

Statistics show the centre gets 17,500 visits per month and activities available for people to join include;

l Cycle Fit which runs on Mondays from 6pm to 7pm, Thursdays from 7.45am to 8.30am, and Saturdays from 10am to 11am;

Town residents do not have to run marathons or take on other Herculean challenges to get involved with the Mail’s campaign.

You may just be going out walking, cycling or swimming a couple of times a week in order to improve your general health.

Even if your challenge for 2012 is giving up smoking or drinking less alcohol, let us know.

Craig joins Lord Sebastian Coe, former Olympian Fatima Whitbread, Hartlepool Mayor Stuart Drummond and more than 30 other individuals and health awareness groups in supporting the Race for Fitness campaign.
