Just days left to Pride deadline

PRIDE ... Winners of Hartlepools got Pride.

PRIDE ... Winners of Hartlepools got Pride.

THIS weekend is your last chance to nominate the town’s unsung heroes for a prestigious pride award.

The Hartlepool Mail’s Pride of Hartlepool Awards honour those exceptional people who make the town the place it is and go that extra mile tio improve their communities and the lives of those around them.

There are 12 categories that cover every aspect of life including the work of volunteers, community groups, the emergency services, businesses and various organisations in the town.

We are looking for community champions, caring neighbours, environmentalists, charity workers, professionals and people who have impressed their peers, family and friends through sheer determination to overcome adversity.

The awards also cover sporting, educational, and performing arts achievement.

Friends, family, workmates, neighbours and groups can put forward the people they know have made a difference.

We would urge you to start getting your nominations in now so that we can find those special people who truly are Proud to be a Poolie.

Last year’s inaugural event proved an emotional rollercoaster in which tears of pride and joy freely flowed.

Your efforts over the next couple of days could help change the lives of the people you nominate and get them the credit they deserve but don’t usually get.

Unsung heroes go about their daily duties with no thought of praise or publicity so it is up to us to showcase their dedication and determination and highlight their achievements.

Our pride awards are the perfect platform for everyone to do just that.

You can download a nomination form from.hartlepoolmail.co.uk. or pick one up from a number of locations across town.

Forms are available from Mail reception in Wesley Square, Hartlepool, the information kiosk inside Middleton Grange Shopping Centre and the main reception areas at Hartlepool College of Further Education and Hartlepool Sixth Form College.

Details of how to get them to us online are on the nomination form or they they can be posted to us.

The deadline for entries is Monday so get your thinking caps on over the weekend and help us to publicly honour and recognise they young and old alike who deserve to be singled out for praise.

We will accept your entries throughout next week.

The awards will be presented at an evening ceremony at Hartlepool College of Further Education on Thursday March 22.

Come on, get in touch and put these brilliant people forward.
