THIS year’s wedding has all the ingredients for a perfect day.
And the people behind it just can’t wait for that big day to arrive.
Photographer Robert Usher has spent countless hours lining up the fantastic line-up of prizes for this year’s competition.
And on top of all that, he will be providing a wedding album worth £1,400 for the bride and groom.
He said: “This year’s Mail/Robert Usher Bride of the Year competition should be something very special.
“It is nice each year to see it go from the nervous finalists waiting to hear if they have won through to the ‘you may kiss the bride’ moment when the wedding actually happens.
“This year’s contest should be a very special event as it is at the Historic Quay. I would hope lots of couples write in as I’m sure I will get to know the winners quite well.
“I would also like to thank everyone who helped by donating the various parts of the prize. When it all comes together it should be a great day!”
He urged couples: “Come on. Get out the pen and paper.”
Robert, who is based at his studio in York Road, Hartlepool, has been a photographer for more than 35 years and covered well over
1,400 weddings.
He qualified as a Master Photographer in 1988 and North East Portrait Photographer of the Year, and is married to Joanne.
He has three children, Dawn 33, Adam, 23, and Charlotte, four.
Also included in the prize is a fantastic wedding venue, reception package, musket firing display and much more thanks to HMS Trincomalee, Cleveland Caterers and Hartlepool Borough Council.
Your wedding ceremony will be held in the Captain’s Cabin on board the historic ship.
HMS Trincomalee Trust general manager David McKnight described the contest as “an established annual competition that we are proud to be a part of.
“The Trincomalee is a marvellous, atmospheric and unique wedding venue.”
The magnificent ship is steeped in history and holds between 25 and 45 weddings a year. This year, it could be your big day happening at the iconic landmark.
It seats up to 75 people for the wedding ceremony and David added: “It will be a red carpet wedding.
“We have been doing weddings for more than 10 years and we have lots of experience in producing memorable days”.
From reception drinks to the toast in the Sir William Gray Suite for your wedding ceremony and the dinner itself. Cleveland Caterers is providing it all free of charge for our couple.
The company’s proprietor Stephen Connolly said: “We are looking forward to working with the lucky couple. We think it is a wonderful opportunity to promote our unique venue.”
Cleveland Caterers, he said, would be putting up the “complete package” of service for our bride and groom.
It’s a fantastic offer which is destined to make our winners’ day that extra bit special.”
Room hire for the wedding reception as well as a musket salute is being provided by Hartlepool Borough Council.
Council events and visitor services manager Michelle Daurat said: “Hartlepool Borough Council is delighted to support the Hartlepool Mail in their Bride of the Year competition as the reception venue. We wish all couples the very best with their entry and we look forward to making the winner’s day extra special on September 7.”
So all we need now is keen couples to put their names forward.
Get in touch. It could be you saying “I do” in style.
