A TRUST which provides care for 365,000 people has got on board to back a Hartlepool Mail competition.

The Best of Health awards has once again won the sponsorship support of the North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust.

Today, its chief executive Alan Foster urged the public to get behind the competition.

Mr Foster said: “We are pleased to give Hartlepool Mail readers the opportunity to say thank you to our staff for the care and compassion they have shown to patients over the last year.

“We believe it is very important to thank our staff for the work that they do and the Hartlepool Mail Best of Health awards helps us to provide this recognition to them. We are pleased these awards exist because they are yet another way that people can show their thanks and appreciation to our staff for the difference they have made to their lives.”

We have already had interest in this year’s competition but the only way we can consider people for awards is by having them nominated.

The following are the sectors in which we hope to find outstanding people:

GP of the Year;

GP Practice of the Year;

Dentist of the Year;

Nurse of the Year;

Team of the Year;

Optometrist of the Year;

Pharmacist of the Year;

Carer of the Year;

Midwife of the Year;

Receptionist of the Year;

Long Term Achievement;

Health Care Apprentice/Student.

Last year, we had an outstanding response to the competition with more than 100 entrants and more than 300 people putting in nominations. But we are sure we can do even better this year and we can only do that with your help.

Judges are looking for evidence of nominated teams and individuals who consistently deliver high quality services and show an excellent attitude towards patients in the Hartlepool area.

They want people who get on with their job but whose drive and commitment always shines through, and who goes the extra mile while always keeping in sight the wellbeing of those whose care they are involved in.

To nominate, either fill in the form on this page, or visit the Hartlepool Mail website and follow the link on the home page.
