Police were called to a house in Hartlepool where they uncovered a cannabis farm.
The drugs were found in a house in Kimberley Street on Monday after officers were alerted by the public.
A spokesman for Cleveland Police, said: "We received intelligence from a member of the public that there was suspicious activity at an address on Kimberley Street in Hartlepool.
"We attended the address at around 5.45am and discovered a cannabis farm within the property, comprising of 38 young plants.
"We have dismantled the farm and are investigating to identify those responsible."
