A CAR dealership has helped Hartlepool United’s season ticket drive by snapping up 10 to celebrate a landmark anniversary.
Bosses at Holiways Ford, which is based in Brenda Road, Hartlepool, have hit upon a unique way to celebrate their 10th year of business in town.
The dealership opened in Hartlepool on July 1, 2001, and wanted to celebrate a decade of business by rewarding its loyal customers and town residents.
They have bought 10 season tickets for Pools which they plan to give away as prizes to the first 10 people who buy cars from them from today.
If the club reach their target of 4,000 sales before Friday, July 15, then supporters will have to pay just £100 for their season ticket – less than £5 per game.
So far more than 2,600 tickets have been sold.
Sales manager from Holiways Ford, Tom Crowe, said: “We wanted to thank all of our customers and everyone in Hartlepool.
“I’m from Hartlepool myself so I know that the people of this town are very loyal and they have been good to us so we wanted to do something to reward them.
“It’s also our way of supporting our local football club and get on board with the fantastic season ticket offer that’s available at Pools.”
Pools chief executive Russ Green said he is pleased to see another local business getting behind the season ticket initiative and hopes it proves a big success.
He said: “I’m really pleased that so many of our local businesses are getting involved.
“We’ve had lots of different ideas about how they can help us out and this one from Holiways Ford is a fantastic offer for our supporters and for their customers.
“I’m sure that it will bring them some good business, but at the same time it helps us sell some more season tickets so both parties are happy about it.”
The ticket office at Victoria Park, in Clarence Road, is usually open from 10am-4pm, from Monday-Friday, but opening hours have been extended in the lead up to the deadline.
The office will be open from 10am-6pm on Thursday, July 7, and Thursday, July 14.
It will also open this Saturday and on Saturday, July 9 from 9am-1pm.
Fans can also buy their tickets by calling (01429) 272584.
