A MOTORIST had a lucky escape after her car flipped onto its roof and smashing into two parked vehicles.
The driver of the blue Renault Clio, a woman in her 30s, only suffered minor injuries.
Police were called to Winterbottom Avenue, in Hartlepool, after receiving reports of the smash at around 3.10pm on Thursday.
The two parked cars, a black Volvo estate car and a blue Ford Fiesta, were both damaged but no-one was in the vehicles.
The road was closed by police while the Renault Clio was recovered. Firefighters were also on the scene clearing spilled oil off the road.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “We were called to reports of a crash at 3.10pm.
“A green Renault Clio was on its roof and had crashed into two parked cars.
“An ambulance attended, but the driver of the Clio had minor injuries.”
A North East Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We received a 999 call about 3.05pm from a passer-by.
“We dispatched an ambulance to a woman in her 30s and she was taken to hospital.
“Because of the nature of her injuries – scratches, bruises and bumps – and because of the mechanism injury of the car rolling over, we put a collar on her and put her on a spinal board due to safety and protection, though it doesn’t look like it was life-threatening injuries.”
