Caravans were flipped over and houses were damaged as high winds rocked Hartlepool.
Static caravans at Crimdon Dene were moved by the gale force winds that hit the coast overnight.
The holiday park is said to have been evacuated when firefighters from Peterlee Fire Station responded to calls from the seaside site.
Crimdon Dene Holiday Park refused to comment on the situation.
