A care home has shown its support for a junior footballers by sponsoring a local team.

Residents and staff at Field View Care Home in Blackhall Colliery made sure that local children’s football team the Peterlee Helford U11s kicked off the new season in style by sponsoring their brand new kit.

Residents and staff at Field View Care Home in Blackhall Colliery made sure that local children’s football team the Peterlee Helford U11s kicked off the new season in style by sponsoring their brand new kit.

They are now the proud sponsors of the club, which plays in the Russell Foster League, after raising £300 to kit them out with new home football strips for the season.

The team, their family members and club coaches visited Field View to personally thank the home for all their help in raising the money, as well as show off their new orange strips.

The lads met residents and took along some of the club’s trophies from previous seasons to show them.

They then enjoyed tucking into hot dogs and refreshments in the home’s coffee bar before heading off for a training session.

The team were also sponsored by Contract Domestic Flooring (CDL), who donated £300 for their new away kits.

Janice Hardy, activities co-ordinator at Field View, said: “We were delighted when the lads came in to visit with their new strips.

“They looked so smart and were wonderful with our residents, who loved meeting them and were so proud of how good the new kits looked.

“We hope that the new strips will bring the boys luck in their future games!”
