HARD-WORKING carers are being encouraged to visit a special event to get the support they need.
Hartlepool Carers is hosting a free event at the Grand Hotel, Hartlepool, for paid or unpaid carers in the town to mark natiional Carers Rights Day next Friday, November 30.
Nationwide carers provide support worth £119m a year and the day will support those who provide this valuable expertise.
The theme of this year’s campaign is ‘Getting Help in Tough Times’, and there will be talks and information on services on offer to provide support and advice to take the pressure off.
The day is split into two sessions, from 9.30am-1.30pm, and 11.45am-3.30pm, and includes talks on welfare reform, energy deals, and assistive technology and support services.
Stands will be displaying from organisations including the Citizens Advice Bureau, Cleveland Fire Brigade, Hartlepool & District Hospice, Jobcentre Plus and other local care and support charities.
To make the day a well deserved treat for carers Christmas lunch will be served at noon.
