CHRISTMAS carols will ring out from a popular park’s bandstand this week.

The Friends of Ward Jackson Park are organising the event in the park on Friday night.

As well as heart-warming carols, Hartlepool Countryside Wardens will be running activities for children.

They will show youngsters how to make their own Christmas decorations at the Place in the Park cafe from 5.30pm.

At 6.30pm the carol singing by local students will take place in the park’s bandstand.

Jacqui Gettings, secretary of the friends group, said: “It is a very festive evening and we have got a lot going on.

“It will be fun for all the family.”

The event is free apart from a small charge for hot drinks.

Guests are urged to take their own torches.
