NURSERY children are looking forward to becoming catwalk stars for a fashion show in aid of a charity that supports grieving parents.
Scallywags Childsplay in Seaton Carew has teamed up with shop Babies Blessings to stage the event.
It will raise money for the Hartlepool Baby Bereavement group which helps parents and families deal with the devastating loss of a baby.
Youngsters from Scallywags will become mini models to wear a selection of outfits provided by Babies Blessings in Raby Road, Hartlepool.
Natalie Frankland, joint deputy manager of Scallywags, said: “We were looking at different charities in the local area and Deanne Malton from Babies Blessings suggested the baby bereavement group.
“I also know families who have lost children so it seemed like a good cause.
“There will be a catwalk for the children to show off fabulous outfits ranging from cool casual wear to formal wear, and the massive display of raffle prizes assembled.
“We hope that the audience will enjoy a lively and colourful show and cannot wait to get shopping.
“What an enjoyable way to raise funds for this much needed cause. The event will be a public event so anyone can attend.”
It will take place at Scallwags’ base in Warrior Drive on Wednesday, December 7, at 6pm.
The clothes will be on display for people to view and buy.
Hartlepool Baby Bereavement group provides emotional support to families experiencing grief at the loss of a child.
Trained counsellors give advice and guidance one-to-one and in a group setting and can refer them to other groups for further help if necessary.
Last month, the bursery raised around £1,500 for breast cancer when staff and parents completed a sponsored walk along Seaton front followed by fun and games in a Think Pink fundraising day.
