COMMUNITY-spirited residents are needed to help give a cemetery a boost.
The Friends of Stranton Cemetery group is holding a litter pick at the site, off Tanfield Road, in Hartlepool, during the half-term holidays.
The event will be held tomorrow between 10am and noon.
Everyone is welcome and anyone interested is asked to meet at the gates in Tanfield Road and wear suitable shoes.
The Friends of Stranton Cemetery Group aims to raise awareness of the site, help ensure it remains a peaceful environment and cut crime.
Group members are also holding another Headstone Histories walk later this month.
The walks are designed to give people an insight into some of the strange and wonderful stories unearthed from behind the headstones.
It is due to take place on Saturday, February 18, between 1pm and 2.30pm.
Places are limited and booking is essential.
The Stranton Cemetery group is made up of residents, councillors and police community support officers.
