A SECOND suspect has been arrested in connection with an incident in which a stolen bus caused havoc in a quiet street.
A 20-year-old man, suspected to have been the driver of the Arriva bus which left a trail of destruction in Marcia Avenue, Shotton Colliery, is being quizzed by detectives at Peterlee CID.
The man, from Trimdon Village, was taken into custody at Peterlee Police Station yesterday.
A 17-year-old youth also from Trimdon Village, who was arrested shortly after the incident, which took place around 10.20pm on Tuesday, April 26, has been bailed pending further inquiries.
The Mail reported at the time that the single-decker bus crashed into numerous vehicles, garden walls and brought down two electricity poles, leaving residents without power.
The bus had been taken minutes earlier from Peterlee Bus Station, three miles away.
