PEOPLE are being reassured that the closure of two childcare facilities will not affect the day-to-day running of Sure Start centres.
Bushbabies and Chatham House childcare facilities are being axed as part of a cost-cutting measure, which was subject to a discussion between parents and Hartlepool Borough Council’s cabinet member Cath Hill, as reported in Saturday’s Mail.
The council said the decision to withdraw the childcare facilities will not affect either Rossmere Sure Start Children’s Centre or Chatham House Sure Start Children’s Centre.
A council spokesman said: “Rossmere Sure Start Children’s Centre and Chatham House Sure Start Children’s Centre will not be closing.
“It is only the Bushbabies daycare at the Rossmere centre and Chatham House daycare that will be ceasing. All other services provided at the two centres will continue as normal.”
