Christmas was brought to life at a popular Hartlepool tourist attraction with a little help from Santa and his friends.
Hartlepool’s Maritime Experience was turned into a festive wonderland on Saturday as the venue hosted its Christmas Crackers extravaganza.
Hundreds of visitors of all ages were treated to a range of attractions on offer at the venue including the chance to browse a number of craft stalls selling festive items.
Youngsters were also invited to meet some cuddly furry animals and the main man himself - Santa.
Dominic McIntyre, Operations Manager, at Hartlepool Maritime Experience, said: “It was a fantastic day. We had lots of families through the door.
“The event itself has been going for about 20 years now and each year it keeps getting bigger and better - it was just an all round festive family event.”

Entertainment at the event was provided by Seaton Carew Academy of Dance and Hartlepool Sea Cadets Band.
There was also a short 3D film based on the Christmas story.
Mr McIntyre added: “The film based on the Christmas story was put together by a local company and it went down really well.
“We estimate we had more than 100 youngsters seeing Santa throughout the day, but we also had a lot of families just turning up.
“We are already planning next year’s event as we are always looking at making the event bigger and better.”
Santa will be in his grotto every day up to and including Christmas Eve from 2pm until 4pm. Entry to the grotto is £5 and includes a gift.
