CHRISTMAS might be almost three months away - but that hasn’t stopped one group getting into the festive spirit.

The Headland Carnival Committee work around the clock planning the annual summer event.

And after the success of this summer’s carnival, they turned their attention to organising another event on the Headland, a Christmas Extravaganza.

The Town Square, on the Headland, will host a Christmas market with traders selling festive gifts, treats and goodies while carol singing, displays, shows and funfair rides will also be on offer helping people to get into the festive spirit.

The event will take place on Saturday, December 14 and Sunday, December 15 from 1.30pm-7.30pm both days.

But although the festive fun and games are still some time away, the committee is already appealing to any traders who would like to be involved and would like a space in the market or community groups that would like to get involved with putting on any activities or displays across the two days.

A Headland Carnival committee spokesperson said: “It’s something a little bit different but hopefully the event will offer two action-packed days of activities.

“We always get a fantastic response for the carnival from local businesses and residents and hopefully our Christmas Extravaganza will be no different.

“Everyone will be in the Christmas spirit, it should be a cracking couple of days.”
